Description

This spicy chickpea cheese dip is perfect for parties and gatherings!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 15-oz cans chickpeas (drained)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 cup Ranch dressing
  • ⅔ cup hot pepper sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese (divided)
  • ½ cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C).
  2. In a large bowl, slightly mash the chickpeas with a fork or potato masher (roughly half should be broken up).
  3. To the bowl, add cream cheese, Ranch dressing, hot pepper sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and half of the cheese.
  4. Transfer everything to a medium casserole dish and top with remaining cheese.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve warm with chips, crackers, or sliced veggies.

Notes

  • This dip can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
  • Adjust the level of hot pepper sauce to taste for desired spiciness.
